The Ford Blue Advantage program is Ford’s in-house Certified Pre-Owned vehicle program. It was created to ensure people shopping for a late-model used car can get the performance and many of the perks of a new car at a greatly reduced price. There are three levels of the Blue Advantage program:

• Blue Certified vehicles must be under 10 years old and 150,000 miles and pass a 139-point inspection.
• Gold Certified vehicles must be under six years old and 80,000 miles and pass a 172-point inspection.
• EV Certified vehicles must be under six years old and 80,000 miles and pass a 127-point inspection.

The inspections are conducted by a factory-trained Ford technician and include road testing, vehicle exterior and interior, underbody parts, diagnostics, and more. If a component does not pass inspection, it is repaired or replaced with OEM or Ford Authorized parts.

Any Ford car, truck, or SUV that meets these requirements can be certified under the Ford Blue Advantage program, although EV Certified is obviously reserved for electric vehicles. However, non-Ford vehicles can also be Blue Certified by an authorized Ford dealer.

• Blue Certified: 90-day/4,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty.
• Gold Certified: One-year/12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty and seven-year/100,000 powertrain limited warranty.
• EV Certified: One-year/12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty and eight-year/100,000-mile BaseCARE EV limited warranty.

The deductible for any repairs is only $100, meaning you won’t be on the hook for a big bill. Furthermore, if the vehicle is still within the original three-year or 36,000-mile Ford Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty that comes with all brand-new models, any remaining warranty coverage is automatically transferred to you at no cost. The Blue Advantage Comprehensive limited warranty is then added on top of that. It’s like getting double coverage on your CPO Ford.

That’s why the brand offers a money-back guarantee that’s essentially an extended test drive.
